Yesterday's Parties

Yesterday's Parties plays with the idea of privacy while living in a dense urban environment. The system was specifically designed for the living room of my apartment at the time, which featured large windows on three walls overlooking a busy intersection.

By recording what was going on in the room with multiple cameras and then projecting that onto screens placed in front of the windows with a 24-hour delay, strangers would have a view into our living room while still preserving some sense of privacy and security. A "curtain" system was also devised which would hide a period of time from public display by projecting, instead, a pre-recorded drawing of the curtains rather than the 24-hour-ago video cache.
