Three Houses

Three houses was an alternate reality game designed and produced for two players by nine puppetmasters.

The game took place over two days, during which the players independently discovered a distributed narrative about the three houses of a long-lost society, and how their help was needed to close two of the three houses and put spirits to rest. By solving puzzles, they slowly uncovered more of the story, eventually meeting and working together to find the objects needed to resolve the narrative.

By inverting the ratio of players to designers, we were able to create a truly unique narrative ludic experience for our players. The narrative was tailored to their personalities and knowledge of New York City, and puzzles and clues altered during production to ensure a challenging yet successful experience.
